Substitute Teachers

CHMS is seeking substitute teachers for all programs (toddler, primary, and elementary). Ideal substitute candidates will possess a B.A. in education or a related field and will have prior teaching experience with children ages 18 months to 10 years old. Prior Montessori experience is not required but is preferred.

Substitutes will require an understanding of young children and be responsible for establishing a positive, encouraging, appropriate relationship with students. They will work with other teachers and staff as a contributing team member to present a cooperative and positive work environment and are expected to follow best Montessori practices while working collaboratively in a professional Montessori community. Your warmth, calmness, and professionalism in your daily interactions with children and their families are essential aspects of your abilities.

Lower Elementary Teacher

Children’s House Montessori School is seeking an experienced and innovative educator in our Elementary I classroom for the 2019-20 school year.

The ideal candidate will have an elementary teaching certificate or a bachelor’s degree in a related field (Education or subject matter such as Math, Science, History, etc.) and 3+ years experience teaching and working with children, preferably in a Montessori environment. Montessori certification and experience are strongly preferred. S/he will exhibit a positive, optimistic attitude; treat all students in a fair and equitable manner and communicate effectively with parents, colleagues and the community.
