Welcome to Children’s House, Celebrating over 30 years of Montessori education!

The Children's House Montessori School is an independent non-profit school for children ages 18 months through sixth grade. We provide an exciting and nurturing environment with developmentally appropriate materials that provide experiences contributing to the growth of self-motivated, independent learners with a love for life. Our curriculum is based on the work of education pioneer Dr. Maria Montessori.

Families who choose the Children's House become part of a community dedicated to nurturing each child's fullest potential and natural love of learning.

Multi-age classes encourage interaction for shared learning, peer teaching, and the development of each child intellectually, emotionally, physically, socially and spiritually and prepares them to be citizens of the world. Children journey through sequential programs; each teacher and classroom environment are prepared to meet students' needs at specific developmental stages. Beautiful, carefully prepared classroom environments invite children to explore. Education materials are self-correcting, allowing each child to develop the senses and make discoveries with the guidance of a skilled Montessori teacher.

Children's House continues the legacy of Dr. Montessori in the school's commitment to creating a culture of peace through respect and trust for each child. In this sense, all Montessori education is peace education, as much about how learning occurs within community as it is about the actual materials and academic curriculum.

CHMS is a joyful place, filled with the sounds of children engaged alone or in company with their own chosen activities. For this, they are guided by a clearly structured environment, thoughtfully designed materials, and loving teachers, to experience freedom within limits for which Montessori education is known.
